Caucus Byte- Save a Horse, Support Perry

There are some truths that I hold about Donald Trump.

One of these is that there are two people who should be given credit for the Trump Presidency

One is Vince McMahon.

Whenever Trump might be out of the spotlight, McMahon found a spot for him- whether it was 1988 and 1989 when Wrestlemania 4 and Wrestlemania 5 were held at Trump Plaza or 2007 when Trump was part of the main event of Wrestlemania 23.

Die a hero or live long enough to become the villain

The other is John Rich, the country singer who became famous in the bands Lonestar and Big and Rich. Rich won 2011s Celebrity Apprentice Season 4. The Apprentice has been hot when it debuted in 2004 but cooled after a couple of years. CA4 (which was the 11th overall season) was the season that jump started the series again- climbing up to 46 in the TVRatings- the highest ranking since 2005. Rich was a compelling contestant on a colorful cast with people like Gary Busey, Lil Jon and Lisa Rinna.

Simpler times

He won the season and I think Trump’s path to the White House was off from there. John Rich became a name synonym is with Trump.

Big and Rich performed at Trump’s inauguration. Rich was and still is very active on social media as a voice on the Right- tweeting..err truthing on Truth Social.

Making a famous bet of 10,000 in December of 2020 that Trump, not Biden would be President on January 21st of 2021 We will come back to Rich in a moment

We have talked at length about how GOP candidates created strategies to get enough donors to make the debate stage. Gov Doug Burgum offered $20 gift cards in exchange for a donation of one dollar. Perry Johnson “gave” away “Fire Biden” campaign T-shirts in exchange for a campaign donation of a dollar or more

But that isn’t all Johnson did.  He offered an August concert that would be free to any of his donors

Seems like a good opportunity to use more Rich puns here

Read that again.

Free to donors.

Let me throw some quotes in there

“Free” to donors

Or. Free to “Donors”

Or maybe “Free” to “Donors”.

In any case if you have a dollar or more to Perry, you were a guest of his to attend a free concert in Des Moines of Big and Rich. Now, concerts and political rallies are nothing new. Bernie Sanders was always on board with entertaining supporters.

And the press reported on the event (as they would and if they did, if Perry got any media coverage at all)

But no one is answering the hard question

If Rich supports Trump, can he also support Johnson? Can you perform for a candidate if you support someone else?

Did Rich ditch Trump for Johnson? That seems unlikely. Still, it’s kind of weird. There is often discussion on whether a fan can have two favorite football teams. Can you support two candidates in the same race?

I need to know.
